Well I finally got my gym bag in today. I ended up canceling my order for the gym bag in juice color and got the same bag but in pink/silver because it was $9 cheaper. I love it! It's the perfect size for me - not too small and neither too big - and it's just simple.
Tonight, instead of the regular bible study, we put together shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. Everyone brought shoe boxes and toys and little nick nacks, wrapping paper, ribbons, etc. We all just sat at the big tables filling shoe box after shoe box and labeling them boy, girl, 2-4 y/o, 5-9, 10-14, and wrapping them in different Christmas wrapping paper. We filled boxes with stuffed toys, little cars, lollipops, harmonicas, crayons, toothbrushes, washcloths, hair clips, brushes, clothes, balls etc. My little guy that I bought toys for got 3 little cars, a stuffed teddy bear, a thomas the train coloring book w/ paint set attached, a ball, crayons, stickers, notepads, pencils, lollipops, a little flashlight where you can change the head to 4 other designs to make little shadows on the wall, one of those paddle things with a ball attached, and a little maze to play with. I bought my toys from party city so there were enough to fill other boxes as well. I had a great time and the OCC dvd always makes me cry. There was one little boy on there that looked like my little Diego. He was sitting there with a shoe box in his arms and his cheeks were smeared with dirt and he had dirt all the way down his t-shirt. He must have been only 2 years old. It just broke my heart. I couldn't imagine my little Liger never experiencing the joy of getting little goodies and presents to show how much he is loved. And like the man said the gifts only last for so long, but the gift of experiencing Jesus Christ lasts forever.
