Diego's first week of VPK is done! He did great and I am incredibly proud of him! On Thursday Noah didn't come. I scrambled through my disoriented early morning brain to think of what I could do with my 3 hours of kid-free time! I came up with: Go to Quiet Waters park to go kayaking, take my bike to Pompano Park or the "Duck" park and going biking, or go for a joyride down to Oleta River. I decided against all 3 because the forecast was rainy (and it had been raining everyday for the past week). Hubby-dearest suggested getting my haircut instead of waiting til after work on Saturday. So that's exactly what I did!
I went over to Backstreet Salon and Tiffany chopped off a long ponytail's worth, which they donated. She gave me a cute layered cut and, although it didn't come out the way the pictures presented, I am still happy with it. I wanted to get Carlos at the mall again because he was daring with my hair and not at all worried about taking a chance. Even though I didn't understand a word he said because of that thick Brazilian accent, I didn't think twice about wanting to go back since he earned my trust. Unfortunately, he no longer worked there. I will probably try somewhere else in a few months for a follow up cut.
I also went over to Sally Beauty Supply next door and bought a teasing comb, some Ardell lashes, hair clips for when I curl my hair, and some fragrant hair oil to add some shine and protect my ends! I ran some other errands, and the moment that I really realized I was free from kids was when I was dying from thirst! I abruptly pulled into a gas station, jumped out, ran in and grabbed a bottled water, paid, and jumped back into my SUV. Amazing! I would never had done that if Noah were with me! It was a very liberating 3 hours!
Hopefully, the next time Diego is in school and I don't have Noah I will be over at Quiet Waters kayaking my little heart out!! :)
